Most of us spend around 10 hours a day for work and that constitutes around 70% of our waking time and around 50% of our most precious period in Life. Hence the state of happiness at the workplace determines the state of our happiness in Life to a large extent. If you are unhappy at work its likely to spill over and extend to your home and social surroundings as well. Hence it is paramount both to the employee and the employer that Employees stay Happy at Work.

In addition to Happiness there are health related issues connected to work. Most of the work /jobs these days are desk centred and sedentary. Sitting at the Desk 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 48 weeks per year for 35 years takes a heavy toll on our health.

Rebecca Hasson, an assistant professor at the University of Michigan Schools of Kinesiology and Public Health, says “this much sitting could increase risk of cardiovascular disease, type two diabetes, and even cancer”

Due to hectic work at office and increasing traffic which adds to the misery of commute time, employees have very little scope for exercising or relaxation. What if organisations provide opportunities for exercising & relaxation at work. What if “work itself becomes a source of fun”.

More and more progressive organisations are realising this. Leaders are beginning to realise that they have a responsibility to take care of the emotional & physical health of their employees. Hence they are creating time, space and opportunity for employees to have fun at work.

Lower Health Costs

Employees who are aware of and who respond to their body’s health needs are better able to work physically and mentally. Dance will get them in a health-oriented mindset. Healthy employees also mean lower health costs.
