Mahatma Gandhi is known as the Father of our Nation and was instrumental in helping India gain Independence from the British Rule.
He was considered as one of the most influential leaders in the World. Without any official position, power or money, from humble beginnings he gained world prominence, helped achieve freedom and left a lasting legacy for us all. He adopted a very unconventional style of confronting the British Rulers – Non Cooperation moment, Satyagraha and more importantly through Non-Violence at a time when 2 World Wars were fought around that time. He showed that through his unconventional approach he could dethrone the British and forced them to exit from India and granting Independence to India. He also helped guide the Government in the Post Independence period without occupying any position of Power.
Many of Gandhi’s core principles are remarkably relevant in the realm of leadership competencies and self-development even today.
Here is an excellent presentation on how we can learn from Mahatma Gandhi to be an effective Leader.
