By | Ramesh Ranjan | Editor | www.humanengineers.com

He is batting on 60 and still not out……

I strongly believe that Age is only a number and is not an impediment to live life to the full. Prof J Philip, Founder & Chairman of Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (XIME) is a living example.

Prof J Philip aged about 84 years is completing 60 years of Public Service in the field of Management and Education. A rare feat for any individual. At a time when most people retire at the age of 60 years, Prof Philip is celebrating 60 years of active Professional Service. He is actively working (10am-6pm) every day 6 day a week and leads from the front. Work is like Oxygen for him and he breathes XIME day in and day out.

He is a rare mix of Industry and Academia professional representing the best of both worlds. He is a visionary leader with a credo of his own, and a mission sublime. A thorough gentleman, a scholar, a mentor, a story teller and a person with strong opinions; and straight forward — he will mince no words and tell it as it is. He is firm, unflappable and demanding, an intellect, conscientious, dedicated, disciplined and ingenious.

In him, we see a visionary, a man with a disciplined mind ready to cultivate the art of the possible and works with a Never say Die attitude. For him high standards matter, details matter and in him knowledge reigns & wisdom prevail.

He is an inspiration to students & faculty, with dreams to dream and mountains to climb and shows an indefatigable spirit but always projecting a calm demeanor.

The biggest lessons are not from a book but from experiences like working with people like Prof Philip. I have been fortunate to be associated with him and be inspired in my pursuit of learning & sharing my knowledge & experiences at the Institute. He has been a friend, philosopher and mentor to me.

He is a great net-worker and an Institution builder as can be seen from the many Institutions of repute that he has built in his illustrious career over the years. He strongly believes that Leaders must build an Organisation Culture that is based on

  • Innovation
  • Aggression
  • Outcome oriented

In great appreciation for his years of dedication to education, and especially for all the lives that he has impacted over the years! May the blessings of good health, the joy of good friends, a loving family, and the contentment of a job well done, fill his remaining life with good health and happiness!

We congratulate him on this memorable feat and day! and wish bright long days ahead.
