The Class of 2024 at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has secured 989 job offers, including 22 international offers, in the first phase of the placement season.

The average pay package offered to the batch stood at Rs 26.27 lakh per annum.

With this round, 913 students including those with pre-placement offers (PPOs) have secured jobs.

“The relentless efforts of the Students’ Placement Office deserve appreciation as we culminate the first phase of this year’s placement season,” said S Ganesh, director, IIT-Kanpur.

Among the recruiters that visited the campus were Microsoft, Fujitsu, Samsung, Reliance, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Deutsche Bank, Tata Projects and Navi, a statement said.

Companies such as Uniorbit, ICICI Bank, EXL, NPCI, Intel, TSMC, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, HPCL, SECI, C-DoT and NVIDIA also participated in this placement round.

Raju Kumar Gupta, chairperson of Students’ Placement Office at IIT-Kanpur, said the institute is in the process of inviting other companies and startups for the upcoming second phase of placements, which is scheduled to commence in mid-January.
