Kip Andersen, Dave Asprey, Dr. Joel Kahn: “The Ideal Diet: The Directors of […]” | Talks at Google

A friendly discussion between Kip Andersen, Dave Asprey, and Dr. Joel Kahn. The question they explore is, “what is the ideal diet?” Each guest approaches this subject in a very different way, and we hope that the dialogue between them can bring more clarity to this perennial question.

Kip Andersen is the director of the documentary “What the Health;” Dave Asprey is the author of “The Bulletproof Diet;” and Dr. Joel Kahn is the author of “The Whole Heart Solution.”

  1. Suggest anyone who wants to know what the research is showing check out Nutrition Facts .org, particularly with regard to soy products as there is a lot of misinformation out there, and not helped one bit by Dave Asprey's additional dispersions.

I'd have to say Dave Asprey comes across a bit suspect to me, those were some seriously dodgy arguments he mounted, and where he got more involved he still managed to skirt around the real complexity.

  2. What the Google representative said at 41:0841:11 and the unhealthful laughter from a few, perfectly shows the lowest level of consciousness, that even the animals don't practice: deliberate cruelty and/or vicious enjoyment of another's suffering.
ONE WHO LAUGHS AT THE THOUGHT OF OTHERS' SUFFERING REALLY NEEDS TO ASK THEMSELVES IF THEY ARE BEING HUMAN.
LAUGHING, EVEN IF LIGHTLY, AT THE EXPENSE OF A PURE CREATURES' SUFFERING IS TRULY AN UNWORTHY, DEGRADING, DISCREDITABLE WAY TO BE A "HUMAN".
    LET US WAKE UP.
(That small, yet revealing, "joke" segue was in exact juxtaposition of the preceding humane words of Dr. Kahn.)

  3. Kip speaks very poorly.
Also, for everyone talking about how Dave Asprey just wants to promote his business, Kip constantly mentions his film which is not just to benefit people. It’s on Netflix for crying out loud. Trust, this guy is making his money.

  4. Why the hell are they talking about sustainability/ethics/spiritual health etc?? Those are completely different conversations than what is objectively biologically healthy for humans to eat. A food's effect on the body is not a function of how much land it uses or how many animals died to make it. They need to focus on one argument at a time.

  5. What is Kip Andersens total impact on the global environment? I read articles that he's been to my country Sweden doing his preaching. That flight equals many cows impact on the earth.

  6. A billion people in this world live in hunger and these 3 assholes are arguing over what to eat. Go tell someone who couldn’t feed their family today that they shouldn’t eat meat or that they should only eat plants or that they should balance their diet. We are all just a bunch of self absorbed whiners with 1st world idealistic problems.

  7. Asprey's background is in IT and business. Joel Kahn is cardiologist. why would anyone trust Asprey on matters of biology over an actual doctor who has been practicing for over 30 years…?

also, he looks like a moron in those glasses

  8. well, dave looks the healthiest and has already tried the vegan diet. he has a calmer and more respectful mindset… proof is there. he's not gunna have a heart attack or obese or dying, he's clearly healthy. eating meat is natural, but not everybody needs the same diet to be healthy
