It was beginning to get personal.

 Fred said that Dominic was avoiding him and hiding things from him.

Dominic said Fred was a pain to be around because he was abrupt and rude. They were starting to play the blame game.

 The Managing Director asked me to do some coaching with both of them because they were both important to the business and very good at their jobs.  The success of the business depended on them working closely together.

 Fortunately, Fred and Dominic respected each other’s strengths enough to be able to set aside personal differences and enter into a growth mindset conversation. But first I had to establish some objectivity and remove the personal judgements they both had about one another.

 We used some insightful behavioural analytics which highlighted personal behavioural preferences with regards to communication expectations and preferred style of communication.
