As always – Marshall Goldsmith's another master piece !
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your video and I'm going to for sure being looking into more. I first came upon a blog post about Marshall Goldsmith and it lead me to finding your post. I respect your favorite being "#3 Engage Yourself" I've been preaching this in my own career of nursing for years, but I didn't really have it down as eloquently as Dr. Goldsmith. I agree, it has to come from within, most jobs really don't "pay" us to truly put ourselves through the turmoil of what we do endure. Take pediatric nursing for instance, do you really think that we want to tell a parent we couldn't save their child or tell them we found a tumor? Of course not, but we engage ourselves into this line of work to give back and oh yeah it's a paycheck and we're out of the elements. But with that being said, my favorite was a toss up between #8 "Adding too much value" and #4 "Whine less do more". Have you ever gotten on your own nerves being so negative, I'd rather barricade myself in my office than to spread negativity. "Adding too much value" says emotional intelligence to me, if we respond with instructions on how to make someone else's idea better, we may lose then completely. If we take away from their enthusiasm with our input, how can we prevent discontent and turnover. Just saying. Thanks for reading.
"Design your life"- my favorite?
