Nokia appoints Sanjay Malik as India head

Nokia has appointed Sanjay Malik as the new head of the India market. He will be taking over from the current India head Sandeep Girotra who has been recently promoted as the head of the Asia-Pacific and Japan market for Nokia, the company said in a statement.

Malik will be based in Gurgaon and will lead the customer operations, drive the business growth strategy and  customer engagement services, effective from August 1, 2016. He is currently the vice president and head of global network implementation services, which is a part of the company’s Global Services business. He had joined Nokia in 2000, prior to which he was heading Bharti GCBT (Global CBT), where he was responsible for the primary P&L of Bharti global business across India, South East Asia & Africa. Malik has over 25 years of experience in IT, Telecom and Technology industry in India and APAC market and have performed senior leadership roles in business management and execution.

Girotra currently oversees the company’s customer operations across India, strategy execution and customer service. He will be based out of Singapore for his new role. He had joined Nokia Networks in 1996 and held different roles in the company ever since. He wasappointed as the India head in November last year. Girotra has over 20 years of experience in telecommunications, IT, test equipment and telecom services industries in Indian and multinational organizations.
