ENNAI: Indian job market started on a high note this year with the online hiring activity registering growth of 52% in January, says Monster.com.
The Monster Employment Index stood at 229 in January, up 52% over 2015, when the index stood at 151.
“The year has started off on an optimistic note with notable growth in the key sectors. Additionally, it is good to see that apart from the traditional sectors like IT and BFSI, we have seen a steady growth in the non-conventional sectors such as media & entertainment,” Sanjay Modi, MD, (India, Middle East, South East Asia and Hong Kong), Monster.com, said.
He further noted the year 2016 is expected to bring in further revival in the job market, with much needed reforms of digitisation and making India the manufacturing hub.
