Nearly every candidate, irrespective of the field he/she belongs to, always wants to work in a multinational company backed by huge resources and its brand image of course. However, some industry experts disagree on this.
According to Gayathri Vivekanandan, CEO, Ideas2IT, top talent has become very discerning. She believes they would like to work on innovation-led projects.
“They also are on the lookout for opportunities to upskill and work on emerging technologies. Just being an MNC brand and offering a good salary is not sufficient anymore,” she added.
She opined that top talent is becoming more open to joining smaller and newer companies, though the scenario in India is still conservative compared to the West.
“At Ideas2IT, we are seeing a lot of people from large MNCs apply for a job with us for these reasons,” she said. As potential employers, Vivekanandan suggests companies today must focus on recruitment branding and clearly articulate what is unique about them.
Led by the same philosophy, the product engineering company is on a hiring spree and plans to onboard 200-250 fresh faces.
