TAU HR – DISCOMFORTING HR LEADERSHIP – BEING “ODD” AT ITS BEST

Few weeks back, I had this opportunity to catch up with a HR Leader in his early 40’s – working with a SME-KPO.

He was until recently heading the HR for a Medium-large size IT hardware business, doing well in his own space and had recently moved into this new company /new role.

Highly competent but a very silent profile with no aspiration to BRAND his story of HR.

This was a great opportunity for me to get to understand him better and especially when this new age HR is constantly searching to brand its best?

Some interesting observations I could assimilate through a casual chat;

  • Shifting from high branding, high visibility arena “MAKING THE SILENT KILL” – as a thriving force
  • Periodic “SECLUSION IS THE BEST HR MEDICINE” – for future HR pros to constantly re-align their focus
  • The real solution to a challenge comes only when you feel “BEING HELPLESS” with none to depend
  • The “COPY:PASTE” mind-set is nowhere in existence
  • NO BEST PRACTICE needed for HR & leaders, it’s the RIGHT PRACTICE to SUSTAIN
  • The “DIVA IS IN THE DETAIL” which should come natural
  • “CLARITY through CONVICTION”, hence execution goes “UNBIASED”
  • “EVOLVING” HR should be the pre-cursor to “CREATIVE” HR
  • “RAZOR SHARPNESS of HR” is only assured by “ABRASIVE HR” programmes

How does his boss / peers feel about him?

  • As much there exits the DEPTH to DETAILS with minimum “THREE STEPS BEYOND” view to PLAN would be portrayed, NONE can falter the approach
  • Eliminate the “PERSONAL-SELF” OPINIONS through every phase of interactions
  • Never look for “ALIGNED MINDS”, just to SELL an IDEA, rather showcase the IDEA
  • “CULTURAL ALIGNMENT” with PURPOSEFUL DISCUSSION and not the GLAM in it
  • The “BRAND” misunderstood to being “VIBRANT HR ” and not as a “DIFFERENTIATOR HR”
  • “LEAD THE WAY” and not “LAY THE WAY” is the key to ALIGNMENT
  • Always behave as a “THIRD PERSON” to maximise the DECISION LAYERS

The “TAU-HR” of future – scrapping negative boundaries (which are seemingly colourful but short term) is the future to see and am sure there are quite a few TAU-HR’s globally carrying similar mind frames.
